The wait to hear what is wrong with Taylor Hall is finally over. After being listed as day to day after Christmas Hall never returned to the ice and the Devils were not giving updates to ease the fans concerns. The entire year the Devils have been plagued by injuries and Hall was no exception. The Devils were talking to his doctors and medical staff for weeks before deciding to do the surgery. The team states that their is a chance now that Hall will see the ice during the final weeks of the season, although it may be wise at this point to just keep him out and restart in the offseason.
Hall had 37 points in 33 games played and was on pace to beat his career high in points of 93 from last season, which won him the Hart Trophy as leagues MVP.
New Jersey has their work cut out for them trying to convince Hall to resign with the Devils. I do believe that he will resign but General Manager Ray Shero has to show Hall that the team is willing to spend on free agents and use their many draft picks to facilitate some trades to strengthen this very young roster.
This season has been a disastrous one to say the least and hopefully come July 1st the Devils can quickly make fans forget about this season and have their eyes eagerly set on the next.
