Player Profile: Taylor Hall

Hall who was drafted first overall in 2010 by the Edmonton Oilers was famously acquired by the New Jersey Devils in a trade that can be summed up by this phrase “The trade was one for one” Hall was traded for defenseman Adam Larsson. You knew that already but here are some things you may not know about the man who wears number 9.

He first discovered what a toll booth was when he first entered NJ. They talked about it at his Q&A (which I was at) “In Canada, we just drive around wherever we want and don’t have to have something on our car or pay anything extra”

He waited over an hour at Newark airport to check his bag and was overwhelmed by it. “Don’t ever check a bag there unless you absolutely have to…I waited an hour for my little bag!”

Earned his first Hart Trophy and became the first Devil ever to win the award

Known for his “Sup Selena” tweet that went unnoticed by her but Hall never expected a response. “I didn’t expect that,” Hall laughed. “That was a shot in the dark. You gotta take your shot once in a while.” (

Had a dance off to One Direction at a children’s hospital while with the Oilers

Played with Adam Henrique when they were both teammates on the Windsor Spitfire
