The Devils finally end their losing streak in exciting fashion by easily defeating the Penguins 5-1. The Penguins were coming off a 5-0 home loss to the Maple Leafs so it was expected they would come out and play well. They did not, the Devils controlled the game entirely both offensively and defensively.
Brian Boyle recored his first ever hat trick and it was a natural one as well. He recored two power play goals by redirecting shots in front of the net and sniped his third to record the hat trick. The fourth line played superb tonight and if they can play like that most nights, the Devils will be much tougher to defeat. Joey Anderson also looked great and recorded his first NHL point on an assist to Will Butcher in the first period.
The Devils defensibvely shut every one down especially Crosby and Malkin by limiting their shots on net. Kinkaid again played excellent in net making some really great saves. The way he is playing the Devils will be in every game they play in as long as they can score efficiently.
The Devils now improve to 6-5-1 with 13 points in the division. Hopefully this can be a turnaround in the road stretch and push the team into another winning streak.
